Class Descriptions
Yoga Classes
Flow Yoga/Vinyasa ~ A faster paced asana (mat) class; which includes a wide variety of postures (sun salutations, vinyasa, seated, standing, balancing, etc.) that are linked meditatively with the breath. Vinyasa means 'breath synchronized movement' in Sanskrit.
Multi-Level Yoga ~ A medium paced asana (mat) class, which includes a variety of postures so that students of varying levels can enjoy and participate. Includes fluid movement connected to the breath and an array of seated, standing, and balancing postures. Some experience is beneficial.
Gentle Yoga ~ A slower paced asana (mat) class, which includes modifications and a variety of seated and standing postures and a connection to the breath. We take our time moving from one pose to the next and focus on deep breathing, relaxation and meditative movement. All levels.
Prenatal Yoga ~ A slower paced asana class using postures that are specifically designed to prepare the mind and body for the stages of pregnancy, labor and delivery; with a focus on stretching, relieving stress, breathing techniques, balance and more. All levels.
Yin Yoga ~ A slow paced asana class that cultivates inner stillness and deeper release of tension in muscles and connective tissue by holding the postures for longer periods of time (1-3 minutes each). The class is held entirely on the floor moving through a variety of seated, prone and supine postures. All levels.
Chair Yoga ~ A slow to medium paced yoga class practiced safely from a chair. Strengthen, Stretch and breathe with the support of a chair and option to used the wall for balancing exercises. All levels.
Yoga for Multiple Sclerosis ~ A specialty class designed specifically for people who experience Multiple Sclerosis and the symptoms there of to help reduce tension, stress and discomfort. Students may participate seated in a chair, comfortably on the floor, or both.
Pulmonary Rehab Yoga ~ A slow paced chair yoga class with an option to stand. This class takes into account students needs with oxygen tanks and breathing conditions to provide a fun, energizing yoga class to help improve overall health mentally, physically and emotionally. All levels.
Yoga Nidra ~ A guided meditation and deep relaxation practice translates as "Psychic Sleep" and helps to reduce stress, tension and anxiety. All levels.
Balance ~ This class is designed for seniors and others wanting to improve and maintain balance. Different techniques are used to improve and assist with balance, coordination and fall prevention.
Restorative Yoga ~ A very slow paced/still deeply relaxing class that incorporates the use of blocks, blanket, bolsters and other props to completely support and restore the body, mind and spirit from the inside out. All levels.
Specialty Classes
Osteo ~ A class designed to prevent the effects of osteoporosis by toning and stretching major muscle groups as well as increasing bone density. Intervals of 15 minutes move through light cardio, weights, barre and mat exercises. Modifications are always provided.
P.A.C.E ~ "Personally Active Challenged Exercise" is specifically designed for individuals with limitations from stroke, MS, Parkinson's and other conditions. *Physician's referral is needed
Pilates Mat ~ A medium paced class designed to sculpt, tone, elongate and stretch the whole body in a harmonious low impact workout applying coordinated breath to maximize energy.
Low and Tone ~ A medium paced class similar to Osteo. Intervals of 15-20 minutes move through medium cardio, weights, barre, balance and mat exercises.
Aqua Aerobics for MS and Arthritis ~ A Waterart certified class to use a multitude of movements and props to exercise the major muscle groups, joints and systems of the body in the buoyancy and fun of the pool!
